The 2022 Midterms: Another Election of the Century

While we won’t be making too many explicit predictions, we’ll be taking a very close look at the predictions that have already been made and that seem to be collapsing. At the moment, our central question is likely to be, “What happened to the vaunted Red Wave?” Is it real? Was it ever? And will the current Democratic bump continue? 

Of course, we’ll pay close attention to the House and Senate as we explore the range of scenarios for control of Congress. And we won’t neglect the “clown car” of extremist candidates that one party has fielded, especially for Senate races.

And “down ballot” races will be important too. Especially since the GOP has mounted an all-out campaign to take control of state offices (governors, attorneys general, and secretaries of state) that could have the power to overturn a state’s electoral vote in a presidential contest.

Through it all, we’ll be trying to get some sense of how the winds are blowing with respect to the 2024 presidential election.
